Nicolai Lilin: "the spirit of the sign"
The itinerant Festival "villas and Castles" is born 1992 with the intent of bringing culture, shows and conviviality in places in the province of Pesaro e Urbino. Among its characteristics, There's that to set appointments in unusual places such as ancient castles, private villas, historical villages, natural spaces, mountains, Woods, caves, etc. At conferences, held in the late afternoon, outdoors, followed by dinner on the spot, at sunset, to close the evening with theatrical or musical. Sensitive to environmental issues and rural land use planning matrix, the festival, promoted by the province of Pesaro e Urbino (assessorato Politiche culturali) and implemented by the cultural association "Villa and Castella" in collaboration with the municipalities of Acqualagna, Barchi, Fermignano, Pediment, Isola del Piano, Mondavio, Saltara, San Giorgio di Pesaro, San Lorenzo in Campo and various sponsors, devotes attention to people and to be, rather than to appear. From 2011, the classical name joins the denomination "Spiritualia" (festival of the spirit and of the things in the lands of the province of Pesaro e Urbino), to indicate your interest in the search for meaning, of responses, practice, experiences and knowledge. Ecology and technology, creativity and rationality, pleasure and happiness, posting and activism, immanence and transcendence were not contiguous as ever so in recent years. The artistic direction and organization of the Festival is curated by Nino Finauri, Andrea Belacchi and Paolo Frigerio.
